 In 2013, WA academic Dr Jan Baldwin from Curtin University, wrote her PhD thesis  “Trance, Transfiguration and Trust: Spiritualism in Western Australia.” which was published in The Ashgate Research Companion to Paranormal Cultures in the UK.  A summary of its contents are at point 24 on this link.
